Gnomon Informatics SA

Our company has been very active in projects of Industrial, Research and Technological Development (funded by public and/or private sources, national and European, such as in the GSRT, the EU, ESA etc).

Our specialization is key to optimization applications, rule-based systems, applications of mathematical programming (MP) and Constraint Programming (CP) - and, more recently, solutions and applications based on Semantic Web ontologies, with emphasis on modeling software systems and safety analysis as part of the Engineering Systems.

Gnomon Informatics has invested a significant proportion of its budget on activities related to research and technological development. The money spent on scientific research (Total expenditure on R&D) in 2008 was 254,107 € and in 2007 this figure stood at 261,753 €.

Semantics

GNOMON SA uses its expertise to provide technical services related to the modeling of specific fields of knowledge and the development of interactive interfaces between specific representation language models and open standards for the Semantic Web.


It also deals with the construction of ontology using open standards (OWL) and the design and development tools and applications using these ontologies in fields like Design Systems, Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Configuration.

Optimization

GNOMON INFORMATICS is the only system integrator in Greece, of the company ILOG.  The ILOG ™ company is the world leader in building software components and in particular machine linear and nonlinear optimization. The components of ILOG ™ software are used by leading software companies like SAP, JDEdwards, i2. Respectively, Gnomon Informatics with the appropriate skills is using software parts (components) to produce state-of-the-art application software for solving problems.


The company makes software applications (application software) that uses the technology of intelligent systems and rules for resolving such issues as:

• Finding the right mix of products (configuration). Specifically, the company has built a tracking and managing orders system for a frames-known company in the area of Intelligent Search of the composition, price, placement of materials (attached to them and consumables).

• Simulation with ingenious system of energy lines in major industries (CING, GIoS), and then the intelligent monitoring of the respective field values obtained by the SCADA system and diagnose faults and blunders
